Co-created with Valeria Rivas De Kouba (April 2026), my role as primary Storyline developer, hers as primary activity developer, with shared responsibilities in all else.
Expected Duration: 45 Minutes
Behind the Scenes:
This project grew from a question we kept returning to as educators and customer service professionals: Why are people expected to de-escalate emotionally charged situations without being trained to do it well? To explore that pattern, we conducted a Training Needs Survey on Emotional Self-Regulation Skills with 115 respondents across a range of public-facing professions.
I identified two separate forms of regulation involved, internal and external. From there, it became clear that people cannot consistently regulate their environment without first regulating themselves. So, we designed this project to teach practical self-regulation strategies for fast-paced environments, where stepping away before responding usually is not an option.
The project was shaped by both the survey findings and feedback from six field-relevant post-production reviewers.
